This privacy notice provides you with details of how I collect and process your personal data through your use of this site

What personal data I collect and why I collect it

Contact forms

When you fill out one of the contact forms on this website I ask you to provide your name and email address. The only purpose I have for these details is to identify who you are and allow me to get in contact with you so I can respond to your message.

I will not use your details for any other purpose apart from where this is explained in the terms of signing up for a resource such as an eBook or email course. In this instance, you will be asked for your consent in order for me to contact you further.

I will not sell your details or pass them to any 3rd party.

Cookies are small files which capture some basic information relevant to the use of my website. For example, cookies may mean you do not need to fill out your details if you use a form for a second time on my website. I also use Google Analytics to track data in regards to how many people visit and return to my website, this requires the use of cookies. These cookies will last for one year and are then deleted.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

I use Google Analytics and WordPress to track usage data for this website. Google Analytics uses cookies and this data is removed after 14 months. WordPress does not track any personal data of users who visit this website.

I also use Jetpack, a WordPress plug-in to monitor visitor stats for my website. You can find Jetpack’s own privacy policy here.

Who I share your data with

When you subscribe to my newsletter, an eBook, email course or another service your data will be logged with Convertkit. Convertkit are fully GDPR compliant and you can read their FAQ here or their privacy policy here.

How long I retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on the website (if any), I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where I send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

This website is hosted by SiteGround, you can see how SiteGround manage the data on this website here.

In Summary

  • I’m a small business with no bad intentions for your data. The only way I’ll use your data is for emails and I’ll ensure you’ve given consent for them.
  • Trust is important to my business, so I do not plan to do anything to harm that.
  • My site does not use registration or allow comments on blogs which really reduces any risk here. I also do not track details other than your name and email in contact forms.
  • If you have any questions on this, please do get in touch 🙂
